Bioinformatics insancıklarının kafasını epeydir kurcalayan, “hangi programlara dili” mevzusu, benim de bir süre gündemimde olmuştu. Yani bu alanda sözü en çok geçen Java-Perl-Python’dan hangisi olmalı sorusunu ben de düşündüm.

Sonunda Python benim seçimim oldu. Ha niye Python derseniz. Bir kere adı şekil, yılanlı mılanlı. Ayrıca böyle kımıl kımıl, güzel bir tınısı var. Teknik olarak bakarsak da, bence Bioinformatics için en uygunu, Bio-Python’da ayrıca hoş, denedim beğendim.

Drupal evet iyi hoş, ama sana sorarım ey Drupal, gereksiz zor değil misin? Aradığım eklentiler için kazan-kepçe dolaşmam neden gerekiyor? İstediklerimi yaptırmam, bir resim yerleştirmem bu kadar uzun sürmemeli.

Velhasıl Joomla’dan şaşmamak lazım, zaten eklenti desteği de daha geniş. Bu bağlamda olimpiyat sayfası yeniden Joomla oldu…

Joomla is heavy weighted and includes many different features at first, but Drupal is light weighted and you need to improve it until you got what you wanted. I made METU Chemistry web site by using Joomla (1.0.x), you may use the web links to check it. I think Joomla is enough for web sites of schools, departments etc. It gives a lot of customizable content support. Moreover, there is a link of METU Karate, you may see another example of Joomla (1.5.x).

I only created one web site with Drupal, at first it seemed complicated but i was beginning to learn after a while. Drupal was not my first choice, but I needed a CMS with postgresql support, therefore Drupal is the best choice. 43^rd International Chemistry Olympiads (IChO43) will be at METU Chem in 2011, you may check its web site created with Drupal. However, lorem ipsum filled nowadays, wait for updates.

As i mentioned, i like Joomla more than Drupal, but Drupal could handle more  complicated jobs if needed, its your decision to use any of them.
